Changelog
What's new
Only the changes about Dictation, newest first.
Koe 2.2.6
- If your Mac's input volume is at zero or muted, Koe says MIC AT ZERO as soon as you press, and opens Sound settings on Input. Before, it listened, then said the microphone sent nothing. Dictation Reliability
Koe 2.2.2
- Your last words are no longer cut off. A knock on the desk could make Koe take softly spoken last words for silence; and after a tap, Koe now listens until your voice has gone quiet, not a fixed fifth of a second. Dictation Reliability
Koe 2.2.0
- Choose where the pill shows while you talk: Settings › Koe › Pill while you talk, at the bottom, top, left or right of the screen. Dictation Settings
- Dictating in the middle of a sentence no longer starts with a stray capital: after a word or a comma, the first word stays lowercase (names, acronyms and “I” keep theirs). Dictation
- Try it shows your first words with a check, right where you said them, and waits for Continue. If another dictation app that may use fn is open, Koe says so before it gets in the way. Dictation
Koe 2.1.0
Koe 2.0.2
- The last words of a dictation are no longer cut off: Koe keeps listening a moment after you let go of fn. Dictation Reliability
- Escape cancels a dictation without reaching the app behind it: in a terminal, Claude Code no longer stops its work too. Dictation Shortcut
- The pill at the bottom of the screen no longer flashes a wave after every dictation: it shows one only when the words take a moment. Dictation
Koe 2.0.1
Koe 2.0.0
- A new Koe, rebuilt from scratch as a native Mac app: a little chat bubble in your menu bar. Hold fn, talk, let go, and your words are typed where your cursor is. Dictation
- Much faster: a sentence is typed about a tenth of a second after you let go, and 30 minutes of audio takes about 4 seconds. Dictation
- 25 European languages, found on their own, even when you switch language in the middle of a dictation. The dictionary spells names and jargon your way. Languages Dictation
- While you talk, a small candy pill sits low on the screen: gray bars while it waits for your voice, dancing bars as you talk, a wave while the words are worked out, a check when they land. Dictation
